Gyanjyoti Educational Trust stands as a tribute to a bright and brilliant son, brother and friend whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 31. His parents, determined to honor his memory, created this initiative to ensure that his legacy continues to inspire and uplift others.
The trust is dedicated to offering scholarships for higher education to indigenous Assamese students who come from economically weaker backgrounds but demonstrate exceptional academic merit. By supporting these students, the trust seeks to remove financial barriers and open doors to opportunities that might otherwise remain closed.
The trust is more than a financial aid program; it is a heartfelt mission to ensure that no deserving student is left behind because of economic constraints.

Gyanjyoti Educational Trust is our way of keeping alive the memory of our beloved son Gyanjyoti, whom we lovingly called Kaju, whose brilliance, kindness, and warmth touched everyone around him. Losing him is heartbreak beyond words; a void nothing can ever fill, but we wanted his light to continue shining through the lives of others.
We felt a deep need to honour his life in a way that would continue to reflect his spirit and values. Education was something he valued deeply, and we too, believe it is the most powerful gift we can give to the next generation.

Early Years
Education Begins in Nagaon
Rooted in Assam and driven by curiosity, his academic journey began with a deep love for learning that carried him far from home after completing his 10th from Nagaon English Academy School.
A Turning Point
Cotton College, Guwahati
Enrolled in the most prestigious institution in Assam — Cotton College, a milestone that shaped his intellect and character. Was an active resident of Mahendra Nath Deka Phukan (MNDP) Boys’ Hostel, served as the Debating Secretary and Assistant Cultural Secretary for the 2010-11 College Week celebrations while completing his 12th Boards.
Shaping his ideologies
Hindu College, New Delhi
Graduated from the Hindu College with Honours in Sociology while being deeply involved in campus life and serving as an organizing member for the Mecca Festival in 2013. In 2014, he channelled his passion for social issues by organizing street plays highlighting the ethnic violence in the tea gardens of Assam. He then completed a post graduate diploma in Human Rights from Indian Institute of Human Rights, New Delhi in 2017.
Honing his skills
Began his Professional Career in Hyderabad
Served for one year at an infra and interior firm in Hyderabad in 2017-2018, gaining valuable experience in project coordination and corporate operations before returning to his focus on social impact and education.
Focusing on greater causes
EdTech & Rural Education, Dhubri
Began his career in the EdTech sector in 2018, working across Delhi and Assam. He eventually dedicated himself to the Abhyudaya Dhubri Project, where he worked at the grassroots level to transform and improve education within government schools in Assam’s Dhubri District. During that period he also completed his Master’s in Sociology with distinction from IGNOU in distance education.
Gaining a global perspective
Career at British High Commission,
New Delhi
His unwavering diligence and integrity earned him the position of a Visa Support professional in 2022 at the British High Commission, New Delhi, where he served with utmost dedication and sheer distinction.
Dreams left unfulfilled
Later Career
In March 2024, through sheer dedication and hard work, Gyan earned a prestigious appointment as a Visa Support-Administrative Officer at the British High Commission, New Delhi. Shortly thereafter, he achieved another significant milestone when he was selected as a Visa Officer for the Department of Home Affairs at the Australian High Commission, New Delhi. While destiny left these roles unfulfilled, they stand as lasting testament of his professional excellence, perseverance and determination.
